Writer's Block: GIP (Gratuitous Icon Post)

You finally have an excuse to use it—what userpic do you not get to use very often but can't delete because it's just that awesome?
The icon I made to commemorate the wild 2005 hurricane season.  There's not much call for that anymore, but it took forever to make so I don't want to delete it.

Writer's Block: Multimedia

What is your favorite macro? Why?

Bacon + salt = woohoo!

I'd ordered a few containers of BaconSalt before, the original, natural, peppered and hickory flavors.  BaconSalt tastes like bacon, but it is vegetarian, Kosher, low sodium, fat and calorie free. My SO used up the entire bottle of hickory flavored (it's his favorite), so I placed an order for the BIG bottle.  I also ordered some of the new flavors while I was at it: cheddar, maple, jalapeño and mesquite.

I like to sprinkle a little BaconSalt on popcorn along with some ranch dressing powder.  It adds only 5 calories!

Everything in this meal was purchased at Costco, except the Gnocchi and the Tilapia, which were bought from Sam's Club (but they're probably available from Costco).

Pan-fried Tilapia:

Thaw 4 frozen tilapia fillets, then season with salt and herbal seafood rub.  Melt half a sick of butter in a skillet, then add an equal amount of olive oil.  Fry the fish for 3 minutes on each side then remove from the skillet.  Save the butter/oil mixture.

Dubliner Gnocchi:

Prepare 1 package of gnocchi according to the stovetop package directions.  After draining the water, return them to the pan, add the fish butter/oil mixture and toss to coat thoroughly.  Spoon onto serving plate and sprinkle freshly grated Dubliner cheese over the top.

Normandy Vegetables:

Just cook according to directions.

Stop bugging me!

I stepped outside this evening and saw a cloud of mosquitoes.  Yikes.  So I plugged in the bug zapper.  Nothing happened.  It's dead.

And so is the Nosquito bug sucker in the living room.  Dammit.

I placed an order from Amazon for a Flowtron 80-Watt bug zapper.  It's twice the power of the old Stinger unit, covers 50% more area (1.5 acres) and the electric grid is designed to not clog up, a real problem I had with the Stinger.

I hope it gets here soon.  It's supposed to be cold the next few days, so hopefully that will help keep the bugs down for a bit, however it's also extremely damp; as soon as the weather warms up it's gonna be bug city out there.
