Who killed the video star?

I was listening to Video Killed the Radio Star, which was the first video ever played on MTV.  I got to thinking that MTV no longer plays music videos, however radio is still alive and kicking.  So obviously video didn't kill the radio star, video committed suicide while radio survived, despite its age.

I Want My MTV
I only just got cable this summer and, well, haven't even checked out the MTV channels (I stick mainly with qubo, Boomerang, Disney, and the like). No more music vids?

Perhaps they can update the song with a YouTube slant?

[and, yes, thanks a bunch, I've got that damnable song stuck in my mind now ;o) ...and it's in my mp3 playlist so I can just loop it along.]

Re: I Want My MTV
They gradually stopped showing videos on MTV, so they created MTV2. But now even MTV2 doesn't show videos anymore, and neither does VH1.
