Lowest price guaranteed

Every so often, Amazon still manages to surprise me.

I pre-ordered the latest Redwall novel, The Sable Quean, from Amazon several months ago.  At the time, I was quoted a price of $16.19, well below the MSRP of $23.99.  The book arrived yesterday and today I got an e-mail that they only charged me $12.95, the lowest price since I placed the order.  Out of curiosity, I checked Amazon's web site and they're currently listing the book for $14.03, so by pre-ordering, I saved an extra $1.08!

If you want to order something from Amazon but it's not out yet, go ahead and pre-order.  You might just save some money.

I've seen that guarantee but never pre-ordered anything from them. Nice to know they follow through. I do so love Amazon for online shopping :o)

I have a month left of my Prime membership before I drop it or get charged. Prime is great for impulse buying dvd's and the like, things that you would normally have to combine to meet the free shipping threshold*. Also, you get it in two days or less.

*I bought the creamer/sugar bowl set for my dinnerware pattern this week. Like I needed that...

I had a similar thing happen today. I'd pre-ordered a DVD set, which was released yesterday. When they shipped the DVDs on Monday, the price they charged was the pre-order price of $27.99, but the lowest price guarantee was still in effect through the end of the day Tuesday, the official release date. The price on Tuesday dropped to $20.99, and I got an email today that my credit card has been credited the $7+tax difference. I certainly have no complaints about that. :-)
