I took the dogs out for walkies yesterday and halfway down the driveway, I noticed what looked like small blackberries all over the ground.  This was a bit curious, as we didn't have any blackberry bushes or any other kind of fruit trees that I was aware of.  But sure enough, a nearby tree was covered with the tiny fruits.  In the 5 years I've lived here, this is the first time I've seen this tree bear fruit, and my roommate who's lived here far longer says he's never noticed any fruit either.

This would explain the purple bird poops I've seen around here.

I took a couple pictures with my cellphone so I could check Google.  From the shape of the leaves, these appear to be mulberries.

The tree is approximately 10 feet tall.

The fruits are quite small, roughly the size of a dime.

Mmm. I miss mulberries. You should eat them! They're good for you! They contain a lot of resversitol and they have one of the 'fake' sugars in them. Oh and also if you eat the white ones, you'll trip out and the livestock will talk to you.
