Any particular reason for the tea-tsunami?

Part of it is trying out my new Yixing teapot.

The other part is trying out some tasty Wild Blueberry tea.

And I suppose some small part of me just wanted to see if I could drink a gallon of tea. :)

Will those make catnip too? I never got a teapot before so when I make catnip tea I have to use a coffee filter to strain out the leftover tea grounds. i boil the water and pur it over the catnip in the coffee filter and once i just boiled the catnip in the pan with the water and then strained it by pouring it into the coffee filter. i was at dads house cat sitting at the time and had to stop making the tea that way cause it made his cats walk around the house sniffing the air like they was thinking hey what's that nice smell. and they was meowing now and then at me as if they was asking what is that stuff? but they was purring so they must have liked that smell. me i can't smell much of a smell when i make that tea and i have a very good sense of smell in rl. I only use food grade catnip I get at herbal stores like that Indiana botanical gardens place. I'm not sure what kind they put in cat toys so I'd never make tea with anything like that from a toy :) Ps catnip is not as strong as i thought it would be when i first tried it. and it didn't make me act like rl cats do :)and doesn't make me feel drunk like rl cats act but that's a good thing cause i drive my car to the store now and then And id get in trouble if I was driving funny :) hehe. Ps I just thought of something as I was about to hit send to send this post, I wonder if cats who are winos get desperate and brake open old cat toys to get there catnip from :)? Hehe I kid.

ps do you know if they make instant cat nip tea? I hate to have to boil water and stuff just to make the tea so instand would be nice to just add warm water to and stirr. I only make that catnip tea now and then cause i hate to do all the steps to make it hehe. i wondr if it would go in one of those drip coffee makers? they have a fillter too.

Re: teapot
You can buy little mesh balls that you fill with tea (or catnip). Or you can buy a small mesh filter specifially for tea. I think you can get these at Wal*Mart, and many supermarkets carry them too. They're fairly cheap, just a couple bucks usually.

Catnip, in humans, acts as a sedative. It's useful for treating nerviousness, headaches or insomnia. In cats, it acts as a hallucinogen and a stimulant. It's important to note that catnip's effects are caused by SMELLING the catnip, not by consuming it. If a cat eats catnip, it will act as a sedative. Also, the effect is apparently genetic, some cats will respond and some will not.

There's no such thing as instant catnip, but if boiling water takes too long, you might want to consider an electric tea kettle. Wal*Mart has a plastic one for about $15, and a stainless steel kettle for $25. I've got the steel model at work, and it can boil 1 Liter of water in under 5 minutes. That's faster than a microwave! (Don't try to make tea in the kettle, it's just for boiling water. Pour the hot water into a teapot to make the tea) It's great for tea, hot chocolate, cup noodles, anything you'd need hot water for.

Re: teapot
Wow I forgot I had 2 mesh things that look like measuring spoons. I only used one of them once cause when I put the kroger drip coffee in it the grounds came threw the mesh. but I didn't know till I opened the box that it said not for drip coffee. The grounds must be too small and come threw. but it should work for catnip it's more like shredded tea leaves :) what kind of coffee goes in those thing? Is some percolator and ground coffee not as small ground beans? it looks like measuring spoons with mesh on the top and bottom and it closes. It said it's supposed to make a cap of coffee in the microwave by putting water in a cup and the coffee in that mesh thingie. But I used to have a drip coffee maker that that gavalia place sent me back 94 I think it was so I had some kroger drip coffee maker coffee left I tried to make in those mesh thingies cause my old coffee pot thing broke in the sink when I was washing it one day. I don't drink coffee now just now and then but tea is nice. and I've herd the green tea is supposed to be good for me :) Ps I once tried some of that earl gray tea to see what it was like cause I kept seeing it on that star trek the next generation but I couldn't tell much difference in the taste of it and regular tea bags. Maybe it was cause I got a cheaper store brand earl gray to try it I dunno. I just get that green tea now cause I saw once somewhere it was supposed to be good for me :) I just microwave water in a foam cup and put a tea bag in and wait for it to make tea :) hehe.

Re: teapot
Good Earl Grey is made with bergamot, a type of citrus, so it has a fruity, kinda orangy flavor.

Green tea is loaded with antioxidants, so it's supposed to be helpful in preventing cancer. White tea is even better for you (though a lot more expensive), while Oolong and Black teas have fewer antioxidants.

Re: teapot
I don't think i ever had that white tea yet I'll have to try it some time. i tried one called lapsang souchong it said it was supposed to have a smoky flavor but I'm not sure what they meant. it wasn't bad. one tea said it had a gunpowder flavor i wonder what they meant it can't really be gun powder they drank. hehe. i saw a tea once called dong ding tea (I didn't make that up really :) ) I'm not sure what that stuff is hehe but the name was funny. hold on and I'll find that page i saw it on the other day. I'm back here it is :) it's on this page http://store.yahoo.com/harneyteas/index.html

Ps i think that was that place that cost a lot for there tea so i never got around to getting any from them. but i wanna try that white tea somewhere sometime. Ps did you ever dream of drinking tea? i think this page had dreams of tea mentioned but i don't remember ever dreaming of tea yet. http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/te/tea.html

Re: teapot
The name "gunpowder" refers to the way the tea looks, it has a granular, grayish appearance, much like gunpowder.

Loose tea is generally a bit cheaper than tea bags. 1 pound of tea can make 200 cups, so an "expensive" tea that costs $100 a pound is really just 50 cents a cup. And with some green, white, and puerh varieties you can reuse the leaves to make even more tea.

How will you know when you have had enough?

I'm reminded of a Kids In The Hall sketch, where this guy drank so much tea, that when a doctor went to take a blood sample, all he got was tea. You must be almost there! :-)
